As the founder of the Five Three Zero Basketball Classic, I am truly honored to launch this inaugural event. It’s not just about basketball—it’s about creating connections between Southern and Northern California, uniting incredible talent, and building relationships within our communities. I believe that this event can serve as a bridge, bringing people together while honoring the dedication of the athletes, families, and caregivers who often go unrecognized. What we're creating is much more than just a game; it's a legacy of support, shared purpose, and community.

The Five Three Zero Basketball Classic holds special significance to me, as it is a tribute to an extraordinary woman—my mother, Earlene Modkins. Her legacy of love, compassion, and selflessness has inspired me throughout my life, and this event serves as a way to honor her enduring spirit. It is a celebration of unity and the power of coming together to support one another. I can think of no better way to continue her work than by bringing our community together in her memory.

One of the most meaningful aspects of this event is how it gives back to those who truly deserve recognition—the families of caregivers. Proceeds from the Classic go directly to support them, acknowledging their hard work, sacrifices, and the often-overlooked role they play in our lives. Every basket made, every cheer, and every moment shared at this event is a way to uplift and honor them, ensuring that my mother’s spirit of generosity lives on in everything we do.
